Maintaining Well-Being Through Stressful Times

Maintaining Well-Being Through Stressful Times

With all pressures we go through in life, maintaining your well-being through stressful times is challenging to say the least. For this reason, we need to always find time to de-stress and refocus.
De-stressing can happen in many ways, but the best way to de-stress is through addressing the three elements we are made up of (spirit, body, and soul). In this blog, I just want to highlight some ways in which to de-stress.

  • Start your day with pray and meditation. In doing this, it will help regulate your mind and bring you joy, peace, hope, strength, and ideas. In other words, it quenches your spirit and soul.
  • Exercise. Now that you have exercised your spirit, it is time for the body. Move your body so you can release endorphins into your blood stream. Exercising helps you think and hopefully keeps your doctors visits very low.
  • Eat healthy. It is a fact that eating healthy not only helps your body receive the right nutrients it needs to function properly, but it also helps you think clearer and prevents mood swings.
  • Sleep. Sleep is very important. Without the proper rest your body needs to function each day, none of the other de stressors I mentioned above will go smoothly. Matter of fact, sleep deprivation is the reason de-stressing and refocusing is hard to accomplish. When sleepy, you cannot have any clear anything and you are definitely not pleasant to be around. The only thing that is clear is that you need more sleep.
  • Have fun. DO SOMETHING that makes you happy everyday. Most everyone is guilty of working hard daily and we have no balance such as knowing when to relax. Without balance, burnout is inevitable. The joy of life diminishes and becomes laborious. Life is already hard enough without making sure you find the beauty in it daily. Remember, “Balance always creates creativity”.
  • Relationships. Maintain healthy relationships and do not forget to make time for your friends and loved ones daily. It is said that relationships make you rich, not your money. So remember to maintain and multiply your wealth, through creating and maintaining healthy relationships.

So in short, we have to make time for ourselves and really consider maintaining our well-being, especially through stressful times. Every one of the steps above intertwines with each other, nourishing our mind, body, spirit, and soul. Without practicing the steps above, it will be hard to navigate through life.
